OWNDEPT — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

OWNDEPT is a private, internal creative-reference tool operated by Ihor Strohov ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the OWNDEPT application accesses through the Pinterest API and how we handle it.

1. Who this applies to

OWNDEPT is a single-operator, self-use tool. It accesses only the Pinterest account of the operator who authorizes it. It does not access, collect, or process data belonging to any other Pinterest users.

2. What we access

With your explicit authorization via Pinterest OAuth, and using read-only scopes only, OWNDEPT reads:

OWNDEPT never posts, edits, or deletes anything on your Pinterest account, and never accesses other users' private data. Scopes are limited to boards:read and pins:read (and their secret-board equivalents only if you enable them).

3. How we use it

Retrieved images and their metadata are used solely to build a private, local reference library for the operator's own design work — analysed, described, and organised into folders. Reference material is not sold, published, or shared with third parties.

4. Where data is stored

Reference images and metadata are stored locally on the operator's own computer/server. The Pinterest access token is stored locally and used only to make authorized API requests on the operator's behalf. We do not operate a public multi-user service with this data.

5. Third-party processing

To describe and tag images, image URLs may be sent to a vision/AI provider (e.g. Anthropic or OpenAI) strictly for analysis. No Pinterest login credentials are ever shared; only image URLs and derived descriptions are processed. Those providers process the data under their own privacy terms.

6. Data retention & deletion

You can revoke OWNDEPT's access at any time from your Pinterest account settings (Apps & permissions). On revocation the stored access token is deleted and no further data is retrieved. Locally stored reference files can be deleted by the operator at any time.

7. Security

Access is limited to read-only scopes, the token is kept locally, and requests run over HTTPS to the official Pinterest API.
